Southcoast Adventure gives your group its own guide and super jeep for the day, from Brú base camp just past Seljalandsfoss, with about six hours in Þórsmörk and hikes set to your pace. Choose it when your group walks faster, slower or further than a shared tour would allow.
This is Southcoast Adventure's Þórsmörk day made private. You meet at Brú base camp on road 249 at 10:00 (turn off Route 1 towards Seljalandsfoss, keep going about 7 minutes, and the building is on the right just after the tarmac ends). Then it's your group, your guide and about six hours in Þórsmörk, 7 hours in all.
Because nobody else is in the jeep, the hiking is whatever you want it to be. Past guests describe a mix of jeep time and a few hikes, a glacier walk in March, and a long, rainy September day that still felt worth it. The guides include a geologist and one of the owners, guests report. If you want Valahnúkur, Stakkholtsgjá or a longer ridge walk, say so when you book.
The price is per group, from $2,425, and varies with group size. That makes it the most expensive Þórsmörk day here, and the value depends on your numbers. The listing includes lunch but also excludes food and drinks "unless specified", so confirm lunch with the operator. Pickup is on request through Viator messaging.
